Frequently Asked Questions
What is Beyond the Book?
Beyond the Book is a brand new touring theatre show aimed at bringing reading to life for KS2 audiences.
How does it work?
Our show is a ‘build-your-own adventure’ format, where the children take the story into their own hands and choose from 15 essential KS2 books for the actors to perform. Each show is therefore totally unique to your setting, with a vast number of different combinations! Read more here.
Do you come to the school?
Yes! We bring Beyond the Book to you. We don’t need access to a fancy tech setup, just a school hall and an enthusiastic audience!
How much does it cost?
We know school budgets are challenging and we want to make our show work for your finances. We have different rates available depending on anticipated audience numbers and your school’s needs. Please drop us a message to enquire and we’ll give you a personalised quote.
Are you DBS Enhance Checked?
Absolutely! All of our actors hold an enhanced DBS certificate. We also have Safeguarding qualifications, Allergy training, and Public Liability Insurance, so you have peace of mind that when you book Beyond the Book you have trusted practitioners onsite.
Are you SEND friendly?
Definitely - we want everyone to enjoy our show. We can make adjustments to meet any specific access needs. From lowering sound levels, to eliminating sudden noises and offering touch tours or meet and greets beforehand, we are more than happy to modify the show so that all children can get involved in the show. Just let us know when booking if there are any access requirements, and we’ll sort the rest.
How do we book?
Just drop us a message on our contact page and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Once you’re booked, we’ll send a confirmation email with all the details and a reminder closer to the time.
Who are Beyond the Book?
We’re two friends - Hollie & Vic - who love performing and reading. As with all good ideas, this one came to us unexpectedly, and almost overnight Beyond the Book was born! Read more about us here.
